Bright Plan were commissioned to provide transport planning and highway design support in association with a 10 dwelling residential proposal in Icklesham Village. The proposal was accessed from the A259 which forms part of Highways England’s Strategic Road Network.

Bright Plan were required to commission an independent Stage 1 Road Safety Audit in accordance with Highways England’s procedures. The audit recommended the extension of the 30mph speed limit on the A259 to reduce vehicle speeds in the vicinity of the access. To achieve Highway England’s support for extended Traffic Regulation Order, Bright Plan worked alongside the Stage 1 Road Safety Audit team to provide an agreeable highway design and evidence to substantiate the need for the change of speed limit.
