BRIGHT PLAN CIVILS

Norman House, 105-109 The Strand, London.

Development Type: Commercial / Office / Restaurant

Bright Plan provided Construction Traffic Management Plan support for a major redevelopment at Norman House, Westminster. The construction process involved the part demolition, alteration and extension of main building and rear wing to provide a building of two basements, ground and part eight, part three upper storeys accommodating retail (Class A1), restaurant (Class A3) and office (Class B1) floorspace.

Bright Plan were tasked with determining a bespoke loading / unloading strategy, road work design and HGV routing plans to support the complex high-rise construction process.

Constraints associated with the proposal were numerous, including a constrained narrow road network, a bus lane and bus stops along the site frontage, and the requirement for multiple Temporary Traffic Orders to suspend parking bays. Through Bright Plan’s liaison with the Transport for London and the City of Westminster an appropriate servicing strategy and road work design was agreed upon. The strategy enabled the site’s construction requirements to be met whilst minimising the disruption to public transport infrastructure and the local road network.

Services Provided: Construction Traffic Management Plan, Feasibility Assessment, Highways Design & Assessment.
