Bright Plan were commissioned to demonstrate feasibility of a major land allocations in Chichester District, West Sussex. Bright Plan were tasked with demonstrating that a single access could serve approximately 1200 dwellings and achieve an in-principle agreement for access with the local highway authority.
Bright Plan undertook design works and assessment, as well as capacity modelling to demonstrate the feasibility of a roundabout access. The scheme was complicated by the close proximity of an existing junction. However, through a robust Design Assessment process it was possible to demonstrate that departures from design standards would not be material to the roundabout’s operation or safety.
